23-minute standing ovation at Hind Rajab film premiere

Sept. 4, 1015 - There was a 23-minute standing ovation along with chants of ‘Free Palestine’ at the Venice Film Festival premiere of The Voice of Hind Rajab, a film recounting the harrowing final moments of a five-year-old Palestinian girl killed by Israeli forces in Gaza.

Currently, "The Voice of Hind Rajab" is being shown only at select film festivals.

Gaza is 'becoming the graveyard of international humanitarian law', says Unrwa chief

Sept. 3, 2025 - The commissioner general of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (Unrwa) has warned that Gaza is “becoming the graveyard of international humanitarian law”.

In an interview with El País, Philippe Lazzarini, said Unrwa had been “warning about the signs of famine and sounding the alarm bells for months” but that its warnings had “fallen on deaf ears”.

Rift between Netanyahu and Israel’s military deepens over assault on Gaza City

Sept. 2, 2025 - Tensions between Israel’s military and political leadership have sharply escalated over the past week, with the military chief directly confronting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a recent meeting over plans to expand the Gaza war, two Israeli officials told CNN.

Tens of thousands of Israeli reservists have begun reporting for duty to prepare for the massive operation, despite the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir repeatedly voicing reservations about the decision to take over Gaza City after almost two years of fighting.

Sept. 2, 2025 - Yesterday, the Latin and Greek Orthodox Patriarchates of Jerusalem released a joint statement, condemning Israel’s orders for Palestinians to flee Gaza City as Israeli forces invade and assault it from every direction. The Patriarchates called this evacuation order a “death sentence” for those in the city who are forced to choose whether to remain in the city or risk evacuating south, where displaced people continue to be targeted by airstrikes in tents within Israeli prescribed so-called “safe zones”.

The joint message declared that the two compounds belonging to these churches, St. Porphyrius and Holy Family, have become shelters for hundreds of forcibly displaced Palestinians in the last two years. They declared that their clergy members serving and supporting these families will not leave the compounds and will continue to care for those who stay there.
