Dec. 30, 2025 - Israel says it will suspend more than three dozen humanitarian organisations, including Doctors Without Borders, for failing to meet its new rules for aid groups working in the war-ravaged Gaza Strip.

Organizations facing bans starting on Thursday didn’t meet new requirements for sharing information on their staffs, funding and operations, Israeli authorities said.

MSF – one of the largest medical groups operating in Gaza, where the health sector has been targeted and largely destroyed – said Israel’s decision will have a catastrophic impact on its work in the enclave, where it supports about 20 percent of the hospital beds and one-third of births. The organisation also denied Israel’s accusations about its staff.

Dec. 22, 2025 - As Israeli settlers escalate attacks on Palestinians in the West Bank as part of a furious state-backed annexation push, US Sen. Bernie Sanders said it was yet another reason to suspend military aid to the government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

“It’s not just Gaza,” the independent Vermont senator wrote on social media Sunday. “Netanyahu’s extremist government is supporting the violent annexation of Palestinian land in the West Bank. This is illegal and immoral, and decades of American silence have enabled it.”

Israeli death penalty bill violates international law: Palestinian analysts

Palestinian lawyers have protested against an Israeli draft bill that would allow issuing death sentemces to Palestinians [Mosab Shawer/Al Jazeera]
Dec. 21, 2025 - Israel pushes death penalty for Palestinians, prompting accusations of racism and violations of global conventions.

Palestinian prisoners in Israel already face horrific conditions, with a rights group documenting the deaths of at least 94 of them in the past two years, and the rape of prisoners caught on camera.

The far-right Israeli minister responsible for prisons, Itamar Ben-Gvir, has proudly declared that conditions have gotten harsher for Palestinian prisoners under his watch. And in late October, he stood over Palestinian prisoners forced to lie face-down on the floor as he called for the death penalty to be introduced for those he termed Palestinian “terrorists”.

In early November, the Israeli parliament passed the first reading of a bill that would introduce the death penalty for those convicted of killing Israelis if they had “racist” motives or were doing it “with the aim of harming Israel”. The bill clearly targets Palestinians, even as Israelis carry out deadly attacks against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, and Israel continues its killing of Palestinians in Gaza.

Dec. 19, 2025 - Settlers from the Nachala organisation gathered near Israel’s border with Gaza on Thursday for an event titled "Raising the Flag in Gaza".

As the name suggests, their aim is to establish Jewish settlements in the besieged territory, which has been razed to the ground by the Israeli army in over two years of bombing.

The event took place at the Sderot lookout point, a site overlooking the Gaza Strip from the southern Israeli city of Sderot.

The road leading to the lookout has become a popular tourist destination for ruthless Israelis wishing to watch in real time the destruction wrought by the Israeli army in Gaza.
