Join us for a local picket to demand that Chevron stops fueling the genocide in Gaza! The picket will start at 9:30 AM on Saturday, September 13th. Bring your Palestine flags, keffiyehs, signs, and energy! Some water and sunscreen will be provided.
Background: This station is operated by United Oil Co, Inc, which controls the rights of several Chevron stations in Tampa Bay. Convenience stores make only a small amount from gasoline sales while United Oil and Chevron reap the profits and fuel the genocide in Gaza. Instead of meeting with us in good faith, United Oil threatened community members with legal charges. Turn out to tell United Oil that we will not back down until they divest from Chevron and end their complicity in genocide!
Parking: Parking is available behind Woven Water Brewing Company, along side streets, or a 10 minute walk away near Shuffle. Do NOT park behind the smoke-shop at the Chevron station as cars may be towed.
More about the Boycott Chevron campaign:
This international BDS (Boycott, Divest, Sanction) campaign is partly modeled on the Boycott Shell campaign that pushed to end apartheid in South Africa. Chevron (and its subsidiary Texaco) provides over 70% of energy to the settler-colony of Israel between its oil rigs and investments in smaller oil companies. In doing so, Chevron and Israel are stealing the natural resources of the Palestinian people and upholding the violent apartheid settler-colony. Join the movement in boycotting Chevron to end its complicity in genocide and Free Palestine!
