Al Jazeera reporter flees on air after Israeli strike threat on Gaza

Aug 26, 2025 -  Al Jazeera’s Ola Abu Moamer was live on air when she was forced to evacuate from a ‘safe zone’ in Gaza after threats of an Israeli strike, a day after five journalists were killed in a hospital attack.

Thousands of Israelis rallied in Tel Aviv, demanding a deal to end the war

Families of captives have been joined by thousands of Israelis in Tel Aviv, demanding that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reaches a deal to secure their release. 

Protests have been taking place each week since the war began. Now they're being held almost every day.

Many of the families accuse Netanyahu of sabotaging a potential agreement, putting the lives of captives at risk. 

Elsewhere in Tel Aviv, hundreds of Palestinian Israelis have been protesting.

They're calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

They say Israel must allow desperately needed aid into the Strip. 

Al Jazeera’s Hamdah Salhut is following developments from Jordan's capital.

She's in Amman because the Israeli government has banned Al Jazeera from reporting inside Israel and in the occupied West Bank.

Bishara claims that for Netanyahu's supporters, "dead children are okay, but starving children—not so much." He describes a ruling Israeli camp that "feeds on war" and "starving the Palestinians" in Gaza, contrasting it with a liberal camp opposed to international isolation. He condemns the globally-televised crisis as "the first genocide of the 21st century" and slams the "timid" global response, demanding action to end the impunity for crimes committed in Gaza.

Eyewitness says American subcontractors at Gaza aid sites fired at Palestinians

Aug. 21, 2025 - Since the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) first began operating nearly three months ago, the U.N. says hundreds of Palestinians have been shot and killed by Israel Defense Forces and foreign military contractors at or near its aid sites. CBS News spoke to a new eyewitness who said it's not just the IDF firing at Palestinians, but also personnel hired through American subcontractors to secure GHF sites. The U.S. and Israeli-backed GHF was established to replace the United Nations as the main distributor of aid back in May.

Is the GHF just another tool beng used to implement the genocide of Palestine?
