Classified US Report Reveals ‘Many Hundreds’ of Israeli Human Rights Violations in Gaza

Oct. 31, 2025 - A classified report by a US government watchdog has found that Israeli military units committed “many hundreds” of potential violations of US human rights law in the Gaza Strip, The Washington Post reported on Thursday, citing two US officials familiar with the document.

According to the Post, the findings by the State Department’s Office of Inspector General “mark the first time a US government report has acknowledged the scale of Israeli actions in Gaza that fall under the purview of Leahy Laws” — US legislation that bars security assistance to foreign military units credibly accused of gross human rights abuses.

Intercept: Netanyahu Sabotages Gaza Ceasefire, Trump the Biggest Loser in Public Eye

Oct. 30, 2025 - A report published by the American website Intercept stated that Israel “sabotaged” the ceasefire that U.S. President Donald Trump had proudly promoted, placing Washington in an awkward position before the international community, which was closely watching for its reaction to the actions of its ally.

The report came after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered intense airstrikes on Gaza on Tuesday, killing at least 20 Palestinians, including children.

Yousef Munayer, program officer for Palestine and Israel at the Arab Center in Washington, commented: “All eyes are on Washington to see whether it will act as a fair judge or merely as a political façade allowing Israelis to escape accountability, as has usually been the case,” the website reported.

Munayer said the Israeli government exploited the ceasefire to ease anti-government protests and demands for prisoner returns, then resumed military escalation once public pressure subsided—a pattern of “violence” repeated in previous ceasefires in 2023 and 2024.

He questioned: “The Israelis are now trying to create a narrative that Hamas violated the ceasefire and that is why the agreement no longer holds, but do they really think the international community will buy that?”

The report concluded that Israel, by persistently undermining the ceasefire, harms not only the Palestinians but also weakens the United States’ standing before the world, allowing Netanyahu to breach Trump’s promises with no accountability.

Report Reveals: Netanyahu Seeks to Shield Top Israeli Officials from October 7 Inquiry

Oct. 30, 2025 - Sources close to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told Yedioth Ahronoth that he is considering amending the Official Investigation Committee Law to remove the clause that allows the committee to issue personal recommendations against public officials.

This move comes after a ruling by Israel’s Supreme Court requiring the government to announce the formation of an official state commission of inquiry into the events of October 7, 2023, by mid-November.

At Gaza’s Fishermen’s Port: Between Hardship and Hope

October 30, 2025

In Gaza, nothing remains as it once was. Amid the chaos of displacement and piles of intertwined rubble, the features of the city vanish. At the fishermen’s port on the Gaza shoreline, hundreds of tents shelter displaced families whose lives have been torn apart, forced by the occupation to endure a painful reality filled with fear, the smell of gunpowder, and the sounds of bullets and shells. Dreams of many have sunk—some grew up on fishing boats and turned it into a profession and livelihood, now worn down by loss, destruction, and ruin; others have taken it as a refuge, setting up their tents in hopes of shielding their children and keeping their families together.

At the Gaza fishermen’s port, hundreds of Israeli boats patrol the waters, chasing fishermen and preventing them from earning a living for their families. Fisherman Mohammad Abu Al-Khair, who has been going back and forth to the sea since he was six, learned the craft from his ancestors. Speaking with a voice heavy with sorrow, he recounts the tragedy of Gaza’s port, which Israeli boats and aircraft have turned into heaps of rubble and ash. There is no boat left unscathed, no fishing net, no engines, no hooks or reels for the fishermen—everything has been destroyed by the occupation.

Since the outbreak of Israel’s extermination war in Gaza, the dangers have intensified. Mohammad Abu Al-Khair, who still goes to the sea seeking his daily sustenance and the livelihood of his children, knows well that the threats of Israeli boats and patrols loom over everything, constantly tracking fishermen in Gaza’s waters. Many fishermen have been injured or killed; Israeli gunboats lie in wait. This is exactly what happened to Mohammad and his cousin, who was killed about three months ago. Israeli boats pursued them, opening fire until Mohammad was injured in his leg, while his cousin was martyred on the spot.

This did not stop him from returning to the sea, despite knowing the risks and dangers. The fisherman leaves the port of Gaza fully aware that he cannot know for certain whether he will return from his fishing trip, be arrested, or be killed—a fate shared by all Gazans. He rebuilt his equipment with his own hands after the occupation destroyed it, working with simple, makeshift tools and materials he could find. Everything new must be improvised to adapt to the reality imposed by the occupation and Israel’s extermination war.

Fisherman Mohammad Abu Al-Khair hopes that life in Gaza will return to normal once the war ends, allowing him to obtain a new boat to replace the one destroyed by Israeli boats, along with new engines, fishing nets, hooks, and reels. He dreams of fishing freely and safely, of the port becoming a workplace again, away from displacement and tents, and of children and families returning to play, relax, and spend time together.

Displaced mother Shireen Abu Tabl, surrounded by her children, looks out from a tent at the fishermen’s port, hoping her children can live safely, free from the fear of gunfire, shells, and Israeli boats firing at the displaced. She and her family fled under the fire of quadcopter drones from Jabalia Camp and found no safer place than the seashore. Abu Al-Khair explains that the area remains unsafe; children are constantly frightened and terrified by the continuous fire from the occupation’s boats targeting both the displaced and the fishermen. She hopes to return home and for life to resume as it once was, so her children can enjoy a better future and a safer life.

Meanwhile, Gaza Fishermen’s Syndicate head Nizar Ayash warned that losses in the maritime fishing sector have exceeded $75 million, alongside damage affecting approximately 70% of port facilities in the central and southern regions. He noted that Israeli authorities continue to impose strict restrictions on fishing activities within Gaza’s territorial waters, allowing only short-distance sailing with small boats, which significantly reduces daily production.

Armed resistance, democracy, diplomacy: Palestinians Gen Z hold the key to Palestine’s future

If realised, these elections would mark the first major test of Palestinian democracy in nearly two decades and provide a solid answer to what Palestinians want in terms of war and peace, writes Daoud Kuttab [photo credit: Getty Images]
Oct. 27, 2025 - For over a century, Palestinians have alternated between revolution and diplomacy in their struggle for independence and the end of colonial settler occupation. Both approaches, armed resistance and political negotiation, have shaped the modern Palestinian experience.

Yet amid the rubble of war, an unexpected opportunity has emerged. Growing international recognition of the State of Palestine, most recently by several Western countries, has revived hope that diplomatic momentum might yield political renewal.

To harness this moment, Abbas has pledged a series of reforms, foremost among them national elections to be held within a year of the ceasefire. If the ceasefire continues and Abbas’s commitment holds, Palestinians could head to the polls in October 2026 to elect both a president and a new Palestinian Legislative Council.

Israel bombs Khan Younis despite affirming ceasefire commitment

Oct. 30, 2025: 5:00 AM EDT - Israel conducted a wave of overnight airstrikes on the city of Khan Younis despite Israeli claims on Wednesday that it had returned to a ceasefire following an overnight barrage that killed over 100 Palestinians on Tuesday.

At least 10 strikes were reported in the city, according to Al Jazeera, which added that casualty figures are yet to come in.

According to Haaretz, Israel also launched strikes on Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip in what the Israeli military claimed was an attempt to "remove an immediate threat."

Palestinians in Gaza lose hope in ceasefire after Israel’s deadliest violation yet

Palestinians in Gaza say they are losing hope in the ceasefire deal.

Many are once again picking up what little remains of their belongings, a day after waves of Israeli strikes killed more than 100 people.

Nearly half of those killed were children.

It was the worst violation of the US-brokered ceasefire since it came into effect.

Despite the attacks, mediators say they are looking toward the next phase of the ceasefire plan.

Gaza Government Media Office Press Release: October 29, 2025

Government Media Office

⭕*Press Release No. (1015) issued by the Government Media Office:*

⛔The Israeli occupation is promoting a misleading narrative by publishing the names and photos of people it claims to have killed, while killing 109 Palestinians, including 52 children and 23 women, in just 12 hours.

The Israeli occupation continues its systematic campaign of disinformation, falsification, and spreading lies to distort the truth and cover up its ongoing crimes against the civilian population in the Gaza Strip. The occupation published a list of 26 names, including 21 photos, claiming they belonged to people killed during its latest brutal aggression, which began 24 hours ago. Upon investigation, it was found that the list contained three incorrect, non-Arabic names not found in official Palestinian records, as well as fictitious names that do not exist in reality. Some of these names were deliberately omitted, with no photos attached at all.

It was also discovered that the occupation included the names of four people who were not killed and were not even present in the targeted areas; they are alive. Furthermore, the occupation included duplicate names after manipulating their full names to make them appear to belong to different people. Furthermore, the list included names of individuals killed in places and at times entirely different from those reported, demonstrating that its publication was part of a deliberate disinformation campaign aimed at justifying the occupation's crimes and demonizing the victims.

Conversely, the occupation committed horrific massacres in the past few hours, resulting in the deaths of 109 martyrs in just 12 hours, from Tuesday evening until Wednesday morning. Among the victims were 52 children, 23 women, 4 elderly individuals, and 7 people with disabilities. These systematic acts of genocide confirm that the Israeli occupation targets innocent civilians indiscriminately and demonstrate that it practices mass killing as a consistent policy, not as an isolated incident. The

Israeli occupation is carrying out its aggression against the Gaza Strip in flagrant and deliberate violation of the principles of proportionality and distinction, which are fundamental to international humanitarian law in armed conflicts. Instead of distinguishing between military and civilian targets, the occupation deliberately targets residential neighborhoods, hospitals, schools, and shelters under the pretext of "response" or "self-defense"—flimsy pretexts with no legal basis. Furthermore, the excessive destructive force used by the occupation, resulting in the killing of children, women, the elderly, and civilians, and the destruction of infrastructure, constitutes a blatant violation of the principle of proportionality and confirms that the occupation employs a systematic policy of indiscriminate force against unarmed civilians.

We condemn in the strongest terms these systematic criminal practices, which combine media manipulation with mass extrajudicial killings, and we hold the Israeli occupation and the states complicit in this crime of genocide fully responsible for the continuation of this bloody aggression against the Gaza Strip.

We also call upon US President Donald Trump, the guarantor states of the agreement, the mediators, the international community, and the UN Security Council to assume their legal and moral responsibilities in compelling the Israeli occupation to abide by what it signed in the ceasefire agreement, to immediately stop the war on Gaza, and to ensure the protection of civilians and stop the ongoing crimes against our Palestinian people.

‘No restrictions’ and a secret ‘wink’: Inside Israel’s deal with Google, Amazon

Oct. 29, 2025 - In 2021, Google and Amazon signed a $1.2 billion contract with the Israeli government to provide it with advanced cloud computing and AI services — tools that were used during Israel’s two-year onslaught on the Gaza Strip. Details of the lucrative contract, known as Project Nimbus, were kept under wraps.

But an investigation by +972 Magazine, Local Call, and The Guardian can now reveal that Google and Amazon submitted to highly unorthodox “controls” that Israel inserted into the deal, in anticipation of legal challenges over its use of the technology in the occupied West Bank and Gaza.

Leaked Israeli Finance Ministry documents obtained by The Guardian — including a finalized version of the contract — and sources familiar with the negotiations reveal two stringent demands that Israel imposed on the tech giants as part of the deal. The first prohibits Google and Amazon from restricting how Israel uses their products, even if this use breaches their terms of service. The second obliges the companies to secretly notify Israel if a foreign court orders them to hand over the country’s data stored on their cloud platforms, effectively sidestepping their legal obligations

Palestinian women share how Israeli forces used them as human shields in Gaza and the West Bank

Israeli army straps injured Palestinian man to the front of a military vehicle and uses him as a human shield, Jenin, June 22, 2024. (Photo: Social Media)
Oct. 28, 2025 - “They forced me to carry a drone into seven houses to film them, making sure they were empty of people or military equipment. My infant cried for hours while waiting for me. I begged them to let me breastfeed her, but they refused, continuing to use me as a human shield,” said Hazar Al-Sititi, 33, from Jenin refugee camp.

During the Israeli army’s ten-day siege of Jenin refugee camp in August 2024, soldiers forced Al-Sititi to leave her six-month-old baby behind and carry out their orders.

This was not a random act by a rogue soldier. It reflects a systematic military practice, carried out with the knowledge of Israeli commanders, as admitted by soldiers in a previous Haaretz investigation.

‘The Heart of Palestinian Resistance is Still Beating’: Ramzy Baroud Addresses Gaza Tribunal

Oct. 25, 2025 - At the closing session of the Gaza Tribunal in Istanbul, Palestinian journalist and author Ramzy Baroud called Gaza a test of global morality and urged the world to sustain solidarity with Palestinians until their freedom is achieved.

In his address to the closing session, Baroud described Gaza as a defining test of global morality and political integrity. “Gaza has proved to be the litmus test of humanity, of morality, of civil society, of international law,” he said, adding that civil society’s response had created “another line of defense” for Palestinians when governments failed to act.

He urged that the international solidarity movement not be treated as temporary. “The movement that was created against the genocide in Gaza must not be dismantled with the assumption that the genocide is over,” he said. “It manifests itself in many different ways, and the historical context that led to it remains, until Palestine and its people are free.”
